Preparatory Course for International Students
BSMU’s Preparatory Department for International Students runs a course of approximately 8–10 months. It covers the English or Russian language, Biology, Chemistry and Physics, and is taught in English or Russian.
For the 2026/27 academic year, the published fee is USD 3,900 for training in English and USD 3,400 for training in Russian.
Completing the course may support admission to undergraduate medical and biological programs, but admission remains subject to BSMU’s official rules and assessment.

How admission works
BSMU admits foreign students on a fee-paying basis, and first-year places are competitive. This is the route Opicka follows with each applicant, based on BSMU’s official admission rules.

Submit documents and take the interview in Minsk
On arrival you submit your original documents to the Admission Committee and complete a medical examination in Belarus. Applicants who have not studied at a Belarusian preparatory faculty are interviewed in English or Russian, Chemistry and Biology.

- Receipt for BSMU’s document-processing fee
- Compulsory medical insurance contract
- A copy of your BSMU invitation to study
- Receipt for the interview fee, unless you completed a preparatory faculty in Belarus
- Preparatory course certificate, if you completed one
- Applicants under 18: birth certificate and, if parents are not present, a power of attorney, both with notarised Russian translations
Documents in any language other than Russian must be translated into Russian or Belarusian and notarised. The passport translation must be made in Belarus. BSMU can change this list, so check its admission rules before you apply.
